BHCW: BackFire - episode 1 (26/04/03) The show started off with Povallsky giving The Teacher an ultimatum - BHCW or bust! Teacher accepted his challenge to a match and our first match became The Teacher vs Povallsky.
(1) Povallsky defeated The Teacher to keep The Teacher in the BHCW
A wild match that went back and forth, including behind the BHCW shed. Povallsky took a hard slashing from the sandpaper like texture of the outhouse and also sustained a verbal thrashing from The Teacher! But pulled through and landed his trademark manouver, "The Legend", for the victory.
(2) Jamie Romero Version 1.0 defeated Mike Omega to retain the BHCW Heavyweight title
A wild brawl that started with Mike Omega getting the upper-hand quickly but was out-powered by V1. Near the end, Omega once again had V1 on the ropes until the referee was inadvertantly clotheslined by Omega, thus giving V1 the oppourtunity for Povallsky to run in and set-up a plank of wood, which Omega was brutally put through to end the match. The post-match results saw V1 hugging the Referee and shaking hands with Povallsky to form probably the most powerful unit in BHCW.
Afterwards, Mike Omega openly challenged The Referee to a boxing match on next weeks show.
Mike Omega vs Richard the Gibbon (Referee)
Things are really gonna HEAT up!
BHCW: BackFire - episode 2 (03/05/03) First match of the night was the boxing match Mike Omega challenged Richard (our referee) to last week.
Mike Omega vs Richard Gibbon - Boxing Match
Mike came out of the fight victorious, winning by technical knock-out in the second round.
We saw a little locker room politics start up this week, Povallsky talking to The Teacher. Conversation was focused on the ultimatum issued last Saturday. The Teacher pointed out the loop-hole he had found with the help of his lawyer, allowing him to challenge Romero V1 for the Heavyweight Championship next week. Povallsky said that he knew about it all along and had put it in deliberately. He wanted V1 to think Povallsky was on his side, and what better way to this than protect his championship? Povallsky wrapped things up by saying that the match was booked and that he would personally Referee the affair.
Mike Omega vs Romero V1(c) - Heavyweight Championship Table Match
Mike Omega lost his championship match against Romero V1, serving as the pretext to the stipulations match between V1 and Povallsky. A pretty brutal affair seeing Mike being thrown through a screen door so badly the Referee called the match to a halt and awarded the win to V1.
Povallsky vs Romero V1 - Stipulations Match
In a rather hardcore bout Povallsky had the match all but won when he produced a stapler and nailed Romero V1 with it a couple of times, leaving V1 stunned and prone to a Legend that ended his game. Povallsky having won the match avoided having to leave the BHCW no sooner than he had joined as per the stipulations attatched to a victory by V1. Instead, stipulations stated that if Povallsky won, Romero V1 lost the right to be a solitary wrestler and was forced into joining "The Click". The bell rang, and Povallsky offered his hand to V1. One tense moment passed and then one firm handshake later created what is going to go down in BHCW history as the most influencial powerbase in the federation.
BHCW: BackFire - episode 3 (10/05/03) Tonight was The Teacher's big night and all eyes were on him as he was seen coming into the BHCW Arena. A match for the championship with Povallsky as guest referee. Not expected to be the most impartial ref ever, The Teacher made a statement at the very start of BackFire - that he was keeping a close eye on Povallsky and making sure he wasn't planning anything unfair. Tonight saw the debut of Eddy "Silver Bird" Eddison fighting Mike Omega.
Eddy "Silver Bird" Eddison
vs
Mike Omega (W)
Mike was the obvious winner from the start of this match, although for a rookie, Eddy certainly showed he's got the right spirit to make it in this business. Mike scored a devistating tray shot, cracking Eddy's head open and then narrowly missed an eight foot high elbow drop from as high as he could climb in the ring tonight. Dropping straight onto the table Eddy had been laid on, Eddy missed his golden opportunity to win this match. One swift combo of two shots to the stomach follwed by a elbow to the head signalled the "Beginning of all things to End". Eddy lost to Mike fair and square. The following match was the one everyone had been waiting for. Povallsky walked to the ring in his referee's apparel, The Teacher came out first as challenger never breaking eye contact with Povallsky, then V1 came out belt in hand. Romero V1 gained a mixed reception from the crowd, but once the match started the crowd was swayed. The Teacher gave them a falls count anywhere match they'll not forget in a hurry.
Falls Count Anywhere
The Teacher (W)
vs
Romero V1 (C)
W/Povallsky as guest referee
Povallsky did his job almost all the way through the match straight down the middle, calling the match fairly. The Teacher started things off with a little hardcore weapon action, mixing it up with a bit of grappling using weapons. One DDT onto a tray stunned V1 for a moment, but in the end only served in pissing him right off. V1 came on the attack and we saw some fairly extreme high flying. However, when The Teacher reversed a hurricanrana into a powerbomb, V1's match was lost. Povallsky attempted to play The Teach for a fool and tried to attack him from beind, claiming he was trying to get to an "injured" Romero V1. The Teacher pushed him off, and pinned V1. Povallsky droped and counted to two, looked right into the eyes of The Teacher, then his hand dropped for the three. We have a new champion - The Teacher! Povallsky helped a bloody V1 out of the ring and shot The Teacher a glance that could have killed.
BHCW: BackFire - episode 4 (17/05/03) Tonight's show started with the camera's switched on in quite a hurry as Povallsky was spotted in the car park handing Richard an envelope saying "You know what to do". From there we cut straight to The Teacher coming out and talking to Povallsky about his recent actions here in the BHCW. The Teacher seemed concerned that he was going to break the federation up with his deliberately creating in-fighting. Povallsky walked down to the ring to meet The Teacher and a bitter argument broke out, resulting in a scuffle. Referee Richard came down to the ring followed closely by both V1 then Mike Omega. Both teams in the ring with the atmosphere tense and heated, Richard took hold of the microphone and told the crowd that the match was beeing brought forward to now and that all other matches scheduled for tonight were cancelled.
Povallsky(L) and Romero V1
VS
Mike Omega and The Teacher
The Teacher and Povallsky started this match off and with a bang. Fighting in the "Hardcore Garden" arena this the epitme of backyard. And Povallsky proved that when he attempted to score a spine buster on the running Teacher onto a fence. Reversed successfully the match took a turn for the team of Teacher and Omega when they managed to keep Povallsky isolated whilst quick tagging themselves.
Povallsky nearly succumbed to the "Lesson Plan" of the Teach but Romero V1 ran in and broke the submission. Teacher and Omega ganged up on V1 for a minute, allowing Povallsky to get some breath back. Once attention turned back to him, the ref having forced Mike and V1 to their corners, Povallsky scored a clothesline on The Teacher and tagged in V1. V1 ran over and, unable to catch The Teacher in time, grabbed the newly tagged in Mike and landed a "Jacknife" powerbomb straight through the fence Povallsky tried to use before. Mike down and V1 pinning him the ref dropped and counted "One...Two......".
No three.
V1 looked up at Richard as The Teacher stood in his corner looking confused. Povallsky couldn't contain himself any more. He ran in and hit the Ref in the back of the head with a stapler. As Richard fell down he called for a DQ and Povallsky and V1 lost the match. The after match beating on Mike and Teacher continued for a short while before Povallsky and V1 left.
Povallsky cast a angry glance back at The Teacher as the cameras faded to black.
BHCW PPV - Black Sabbath (24/5/03)
Tonight saw the frist ever special event staged by British Hardcore Championship Wrestling, and what an event it turned out to be.
The first match we saw was a hard fought match between new superstar Eddy "Silverbird" Eddison and his opponent who was fighting in his debut match tonight.
Eddy "Silverbird" Eddison (W)
vs
His Opponent
Eddy won the match easily enough with his blatent power advantage over his opponent. No sooner had he made his way into the ring, Eddy started to beat down his opponent. Eddy landed a huge bodyslam then followed it with a standing splash, crushing his opponent. Prolonging the inevitable Eddy continued to perform move after move on his opponent until he finally wooed the crowd long enough and pinned the poor boy for the three count in the only pin of the match. After the match, the Teacher came over to Eddy back stage and congratulated him on a well fought victory.
Following this Povallsky came out and talked to the crowd about how The Teacher was going to lose his gold tonight. The Teacher came out and conversed with his foe talking of how he's not afraid of having to pull a few tricks of his own if he's to keep himself in the running for the belt. He talks of his past in prison and how he had to fight everyday to survive the harsh and cruel environment inside. Povallsky turned on his heel and left The Teacher in the ring as the fans began to chant his name.
Povallsky walked out to the ring again only a few moments later as he was booked to fight Mike Omega in a No Holds Barred Match.
Povallsky (W)
vs
Mike Omega
Mike got the upper hand in this match as he consealed a weapon in his jacket so as when he got into the ring, he immediately attacked Povallsky and stunned him via the suprise of the shot. After using the tray for a few hits, Omega turned his attention to his fists, hitting Povallsky square in the face sending him to the floor. No more than sixty seconds into the fight, Mike nearly scored a win. This extremely close shave sparked new energy into Povallsky and he made a counter attack. Turning the brawl into a wrestling match, Povallsky pulled off some rather impressive technical moves, including a huge vertical suplex and a picture perfect clothesline that flipped Omega over himself.
Ending Mike's match was the stapler attack that stunned him long enough to allow Povallsky to perform the Legend and pin Omega for Ref Chris Keenan to count the three.
After the match, again the Teacher was seen backstage only this time offering his condolences to Mike Omega after his loss. Povallsky bumped into the conversation though and told The Teacher he'd better get ready to lose, barged past the two superstars and walked on.
The final match Black Sabbath had to offer was the much anticipated Heavyweight Championship Match between
Romero V1
vs
The Teacher (C)(L)
The Teacher lost his belt tonight as Povallsky had promised. And rather unsuprisingly, Povallsky had something to do with it.
During the match, The Teacher was constantly cautious of Richard Gibbon the Referee for the tussle. Richard did do his job fairly for the most part, calling rulings on both wrestlers fairly and equally. Each pin attempt from both The Teacher and V1 was counted fairly and after several minutes the The Teacher finally dropped his guard. The Teacher used his size advantage throughout the match, stopping V1 in his tracks when he tried a cross body block from running. However, using his speed V1 managed to nip past most of The Teacher's attacks, and reversed several aswell. A devistating tray shot on The Teacher looked like it had the match won for V1, but in the nick of time The Teacher kicked out of the pin.
Having stunned V1 with this, The Teacher pulled the match back in his favour. The Teacher scored a tray shot on V1 that broke the skin, and V1 hit the deck. The Teacher taunted for the crowd, then picking up the bloody V1 set him up for a Lesson Plan. However, Povallsky jumped into the ring at this point and looked straight at Richard. The Ref turned his back on Povallsky and allowed him to pull The Teacher off V1 and performed a photo-perfect Legend on him, knocking The Teacher down on out. V1 tapped the Ref on the shoulder and pinned The Teacher. One quick count later, The Click had sucessfully screwed The Teacher out of his championship and just as Povallsky promised, The Teacher lost his gold.
Back stage Eddy, who had been watching the match on the moniters, was incensed. As the cameras faded he was seen stalking the backstage area asked if anyone had seen V1 or Povallsky. Looks like The Click has made yet another friend.
